Spring 2020 has been a truly remarkable semester in which we explored and the pushed the boundaries of digital education in architectural design. Graduation Projects in the Department of Architecture in Spring 2020 are the results of an intense studio work organized around the concept of “Together” subdivided into three units including Critical, Urban and Technological Practices with the corresponding themes of Islands, Blue Focus and Live-Work-Play. All of the three groups have sites that are strategically located around the İzmir Bay. In ARCH 498 Graduation Studio, the aim is to have students produce architectural projects that will be the signature of their four-year long architectural education at İzmir University of Economics. To our graduates: We appreciate your hard work and willingness to learn. As architects, you have the imagination to design spaces with aesthetics, you know the tools to build them in real life, and you have the intellect to make the world a better place. May you always have a happy, healthy, successful life. Do not forget, extraordinary conditions shape stronger minds.
